ADJUVANTS are tank additives that a grower or applicator uses to maximize treatments of pesticidal spray applications.

Chemical technology to make adjuvants is over 40 years old and basically consists of surfactants, buffering agents, mineral / vegetable oils, synthetic polymers, penetrants and organo-silicones.

BINDE
EXTENDER NONIONIC STICKER SPREADER

BINDE is an Extender Sticker Spreader designed to extend the life of pesticides. It may be used with all pesticide products and soluble fertilizers. BINDE forms a durable film that holds a pesticide on the crop foliage. This shield greatly reduces the effects of environmental factors, such as rain, which may decrease the effectiveness of pesticides. BINDE will not foam, freeze or clog nozzles. It may be applied by aerial, ground or concentrate sprayer. It enhances the initial pesticide application to give complete coverage.

BINDE prevents the removal of the pesticides from the leaf surface by rainfall and wind. It screens the pesticide spray residue from ultraviolet rays which often cause pesticide degradation. Pesticide volatization is minimized by the protective shield.

Under most conditions, apply sprays containing BINDE and allow at least one hour of daylight before an anticipated rain. Sunlight for this time period is required for the protective shield to set.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
To extend the activity and increase the efficiency of insecticidal and fungicidal sprays, use 1 pint per acre when applied by aircraft or by ground equipment. For hydraulic or oil blast tree sprayers, apply 6 to 8 ounces of BINDE per 100 gallons of water when applied diluted. For diluted application of citrus sprays, where the spray volume is 1,000 to 1,500 gallons per acre, use 2 pints of BINDE per 500 gallons of spray mix. For concentrate sprays, where the total spray volume is approximately 100 gallons or less per acre, use 1 pint of BINDE per acre. For turf applications, use at the rate of 8 to 16 ounces per acre. For use in vegetable and cotton programs, use at the rate of 4 to 16 ounces per acre.

BINDE used at the rate of 4 ounces per acre enhances the sticking activity of insecticides and fungicides.

BINDE used at the rate of 8 ounces per acre provides some extension of most insecticides and fungicides. When used in a spray tank combination with insecticides and fungicides, do not apply BINDE to food crops within 30 days of harvest, except as follows: BINDE can be used with copper fungicides. Bacillus thuringiensis products and other tolerance exempt pesticides on food crops up to harvest.

JAGGE
CONCENTRATE CROP OIL

JAGGE is a blend of special nonionic surfactants with phytobland (nonphytotoxic) oil. It is designed for use with a broad range of pesticides including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and/or fertilizers, and micronutrients. JAGGE increases contact activity of the spray, aids in penetration of plant canopies, and provides uniform coverage of leaf surfaces. Optimum application and effects can be influenced by the crop, pest, spray equipment, spray volume, pressure, droplet size, spray mixture, and environmental factors. Consequently, it is recommended that careful observation of the spray deposit be made and JAGGE concentrations be adjusted accordingly.

LINKE
BUFFERING AGENT

LINKE is an effective blend of materials which act as a buffering agent and a compatibility agent to improve the stability of liquid fertilizers mixed with pesticides and/or micronutrients. LINKE is used when a simultaneous application of liquid fertilizer and liquid or dry pesticide is desired. LINKE is also recommended when two different pesticides are to be applied in a single source of liquid fertilizer or water.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For improving compatibility and stability of liquid fertilizer and pesticide mixture, use LINKE by one of the following procedures:

Add recommended quantity of LINKE to the liquid fertilizer or water in the tank and mix completely. Maintain agitation while adding the pesticide. Mix thoroughly. Add required amount of LINKE and pesticide to the tank containing the fertilizer and mix completely.
Prepare a pre-mix of recommended rate of pesticide and LINKE; then
add to the tank containing the fertilizer and mix thoroughly.

Procedures 1 and 2 are appropriate for most situations while 3 is recommended where compatibility is still inadequate due to the application of two or three different pesticides in a single source of liquid fertilizer. Procedure 3 is also suggested for mixtures with high phosphate grade liquid fertilizers, wet able powders, and flow able pesticide formulations.

FOR USE AS A BUFFERING AGENT:
Many pesticides, especially organophosphorous insecticides, tend to hydrolyze in alkaline solutions, resulting in less effective pest control. Decomposition normally occurs at a fast rate above pH 7. Even for those compounds undergoing slow hydrolysis, adjustment of pH to an acid medium would have a beneficial effect in minimizing decomposition. Use 1/8 to 1-1/4 pints of LINKE per 100 gallons of water to lower the pH of alkaline pesticide spray solutions. The optimum use rate of LINKE may vary under extreme alkaline conditions. LINKE should be added to the water in the spray tank with good agitation prior to adding pesticide.

TopFilm ™
Natural-based Adjuvant Made from Grains

BIOCAR 405 is the active Ingredient in TOP-FILM.

"The Sticker that Breathes"

New Technology:
TopFilm™ is made from natural patented grain materials called Biocar®, which are micro sponges that absorb the treatment and offers coating properties which protects the application.

Value of Biocar® Technology

  • Reduce wash-off = more effective treatment.
  • Less manual labor.
  • Less chemical usage.
  • More value to growers or applicators.
  • Environmental and worker safety.

TopFilm™ is a suspo-emulsion (SE) of Biocar® micro sponge

  • In the liquid form, these micro sponges absorb the active ingredient that is added to the spray tank.
  • The grower/applicator sprays the tank mixture on to the plants/weeds.
  • The spray mixture deposits a natural film containing the active ingredient, which dries within 10 - 30 minutes.
(Under faucet, the film does not wash off readily.)
  • The Biocar® micro sponges attach to the leaves providing a coating property that protects the application (rain fastness) from rain and irrigation.

Summary

Addition of grain-derived micro sponges to the treatments:

  1. Herbicide
  2. Fungicide
  3. Insecticide

Maximizes the effect and reduces wash-off in to the environment.

Results: savings of time, costs and labor.

Biocar® micro sponges are available in TopFilm™ Adjuvant.
